Health Professions

Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 1:30 PM until 2:30 PMPacific Daylight Time UTC -07:00

It is becoming increasingly clear that medical schools prefer to admit and enroll students with more holistic undergraduate backgrounds. This means students who have done more than just check the boxes on a list of prerequisites. Students who can demonstrate critical thinking, creative problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and strong writing ability are more desirable. In short - Willamette students!

Willamette knows that medical school isn’t the only healthcare career that needs students with these skills best learned in a liberal arts and sciences environment. That’s why we want you to join us for a conversation with Jason Duncan, Associate Professor of Biology, about our new Health Professions program and learn more about how Willamette prepares graduates to turn knowledge into action and lead lives of achievement, contribution, and meaning as healthcare professionals.

This event will be hosted in meeting format - allowing you to ask questions via video or the Q&A after the presentation has concluded. Neither the slides, nor a recording, will be distributed following the program.

Willamette University utilizes Google Meet for our virtual programming.
